About Yelko
A software company that runs its own software.
Yelko is an Australian software company. We design, build and operate our own products, and we engineer custom software for organisations that need more than generic tools can give them.
Most businesses don’t have a technology problem. They have an information problem that software can fix, if it is built around how the business really works.
Yelko started out building websites and web applications for businesses. The work kept pointing at the same thing: the hardest problems were never the pages, they were the systems behind them, and the way information moved (or didn’t) between people and tools.
So we changed what we build. Today we make software products for industries we understand, and we take on custom engineering where the requirements are specific and the system has to last.

Real problems first
We start with the operation, the people and the commercial goal. Technology choices come after, and sometimes the answer is less software, not more.
Ownership
We run our own products in production. We bring the same sense of ownership to client systems: if we build it, we care how it runs.
Long-term thinking
Good software is maintained for years. We design data models, tests and documentation for the people who will work on it next.
Engineering standards
Isolation, access control, encryption, monitoring and backups are defaults, not upgrades.
Plain communication
Clear scope, honest estimates and straightforward advice, including when we are not the right fit.
